WELCOME TO ILLINOIS LYME

We are so glad you found us! Illinois Lyme is a Lyme and tick-borne disease support group for people in all different stages of Lyme disease. We understand how difficult it can be when you feel like there’s nowhere to turn for help. We are here to support anyone in Illinois who thinks they may have Lyme disease or are in need of additional guidance.

On this website, you’ll find information on Lyme disease (i.e. where to get lab tests done, support group locations, notifications of Lyme-related events, etc). But the real way to get more info is to connect with others that have it, and find out what they’re doing about it. The majority of support you’re looking for can be found on our Facebook group.

DON’T GIVE UP

Many with chronic Lyme disease and co-infections have spent tens of thousands of dollars on doctors and specialists, only to end up being misdiagnosed (eg. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia, Epstein-Barr virus, allergies, lupus, candida, stress, etc.) for years before discovering that Lyme was the culprit all along.

Currently, there are no tests that are 100% accurate for Lyme.  If you have symptoms of Lyme or have been diagnosed with one of the above conditions, we believe that it may be beneficial for you to contact a Lyme-Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD), or have your current doctor call an LLMD to learn more.  Treatment for Lyme disease will typically include antibiotics, herbs, supplements, diet changes, and exercise.

Whatever you do, don’t give up! We understand how you feel. Keep moving forward towards your healing. Connect with us and share your experiences.
